There are few trees as loved by the world as the Wild Apple tree. Known for its lovely fruit and flowering, it’s wood is seldom mentioned in folklore. Not many know that the Wild Apple Wood is sacred to Venus, Celtic Goddess Rhiannon, Aphrodite, Athena, Diana (all women!) and Cupid. The Wild Apple wood has magical properties with healing, fertility, and love. This is a fine wood of choice for the witch when working with the fairy realm (my Mom used to tell me!). Apple is a good wood for raising the enhancement of skills, and is often used in love spells. Apple wood encourages harmony, serenity, and peace. As a Cancer Sun, Cancer Rising ourself, our personal wand is made from the Wild Apple tree, and we quite love it.
Inspired by a technique taught to him by his grandfather, BOIS CARIBOU created a unique set of rings from torrefied wood from the Wild Apple tree. This natural Japanese technique, called Yakisugi, consists of burning the surface of the wood to give it its beautiful dark sheen and sweet scent, and is one of the oldest ways of protecting timber. It is believed to have been implemented by old Japanese monks over 800 years ago. The apple wood is one of the hardest and most dense, making it hard to work, but ultimately producing the most beautiful and long-lasting pieces. The slices of timber used in the making of these rings come from local orchards in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Quebec.
You will love wearing these rings that pair well with all sorts of other unique jewels.
